The Vision and Our Story
Thrown away the night before, a newborn child lay motionless on the filthy sidewalk. Hungry street dogs attacked this tiny, defenseless, infant boy in the night. The next morning, as passersby caught sight of the horrific sight of his ravaged remains, Agnes was among them. All she could do was weep. Her heart cried, “God, please help me to rescue the suffering babies of Uganda.” God gave her the vision for a new baby home.
This horrific sight is not at all unusual. Commonly, unwanted babies are thrown alive into trash dumpsters and pit toilets. In a country decimated by AIDs, wars, and extreme poverty, innocent children suffer intensely. Yet, in the midst of these deplorable conditions–there is hope. Aggie’s Baby Home is providing a safe, warm place for the abandoned babies of Uganda.
Agnes and her husband, Reverend Christopher Lubega, established the New Hope Orphanage in 2003, born out of the same passion and heart to care for Uganda’s children. The orphanage currently provides food, shelter, clothing, and an education to over 500 abandoned children! Now, God has given them a vision to expand their outreach to the unwanted infants whose very survival is threatened. You can be part of that vision–and help us bring a hope, a home and a future to the lives of precious babies in Uganda.
