Aggie’s Baby Home which opened it’s doors in 2010; finished it’s first full-year of operation in 2011 helping a total of twenty-eight orphaned and homeless children. We are pleased to report that nine babies went home with their new (adopted) families in 2011. We had four babies resettled with their biological families, while six other babies are currently matched and anxiously awaiting their 2012 adoption court dates! Six of our babies are not adoptable and sadly, three other precious children died and went home to be with Jesus.

We are also very grateful to be able to employ a staff of eleven including – 6 loving mothers, a cook, 2 part-time laundry helpers, a full-time cleaning woman and a 24/7 security person. We may be a small baby home but we are proud of the staff to baby ratio and the tender care they have provided for our precious babies.

Finally, we are tremendously grateful for all the people who so generously supported this ministry in 2011 -including both monthly and one-time donors; people who donating goods when they visited the baby home; people who donated hours working at the baby home; and most especially for those who prayed for us. You are the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus to His most highly regarded people on earth – the orphan.

While we fell short of the actual budget each month, the Lord always seemed to provide through many one-time donations and the on-going support of the Maestas family. THANK-YOU!

As we look forward, we are uncertain at this time what 2012 looks like but we pray that we would continue to be able to work for such a worthy cause. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

February 2012 -
Thank you so much for your interest in Aggie’s Baby Home and the children and babies in our care.

Due to a current hold on accepting any new babies into our home, we are unable to accept any adoption applications from international families at this time. This may change in the near future so please do not hesitate to contact us again in a few months to see if the need for adoptive homes overseas is yet again a reality for some of the children in our care.

Even if we cannot accept your application for adoption at this time there are other ways that you may be of help to the children living at Aggie’s Baby Home. Aggie’s Baby Home welcomes any financial assistance that you may be able to offer the home and our children, especially those that are not available for adoption. The home will always have a great need for your continual prayers, caring volunteers and supplies to help run the home on a day to day basis as well.

Thank you again for caring about the children of Uganda and Aggie’s Baby Home. We hope to be able to work with you in the near future.

Choir Fire for Kids and Youth is a Christian choral program from the Denver, Colorado area that donates a portion of each member’s tuition each semester. In today’s culture, it’s sometimes hard to communicate to young people how important it is to get involved in something bigger than oneself. But that’s just what the performers in Choir Fire do at every performance as they sing about the orphans around the world and at Aggie’s Baby Home. Thank you Choir Fire!

At first we didn’t understand why Agnes requested that the “mothers” at the baby home have medical scrubs or some kind of uniform. But when Paula M. visited Uganda in January she realized that it wasn’t just to protect their clothes from spit-up; when you wear a uniform in Uganda it gives a person a sense of pride and status. No matter where you are, having a job gives a person a purpose. A uniform says to the world- “Look at me, I have a job” and “I can provide for my family.” etc.

This picture shows some of our wonderful staff at Aggie’s Baby Home. These lovely ladies work hard, day and night (for most of them, their shifts are 24/7, 6 days a week). You can see from their smiles that they love their new colorful (maid’s) uniforms. We also had a donation of beautiful hand-sewn aprons for them to wear. Thank you Paula and Sharon for your donation of love!
